The book is divided into eight parts, running into thirty six chapters. Part I to VII deal with Governments employment policy in general. The material in these seven parts has been arranged in the sequence in which events relating to employment occur the principles governing civil employment (Part I), alternatives to permanent appointment (Part II), reservation and relaxation in employment (Part III), modes of selection (Part IV), process of induction and training (Part V), Milestones in a career (Part VI), and pay allowances, perquisites and pensionary benefits (Part VII), personal matters (Part VIII) is intended to serve as a guide in individual cases.
